Teaching To See (blurb)

Things learned from Teaching to See with Inge Druckery

Graphic Design Is:

- Teaching your brain to see. Seeing many outcomes of an object or image, arrangement, size and possibly texture of the object.

- Also learning that not everything has to make a word or an image but how just arrangement of shapes or lines makes a beautiful image.

- Training the eye is very important.  The eye wants to see a pattern, it wants order of things. Understanding why that line goes there or ends at that spot and translating what things are doing.

- Go beyond just showing what something is, show what's happening with the subject.

-Also learned that is important control of negative space and use it to your advantage. The space around the form is just as important as the the form.
